A 'Hat Trick' for East Knowstone Farming Family at the Devon County Show

The Stanbury Family - John and Rosemary, son Richard and daughter Clare - who farm at The Barton, East Knowstone, took three great prizes at the Devon County Show last week.

First, John and Rosemary Stanbury set the ball rolling by winning first prize in the Yearling Devon Bull category. The bull, charmingly called Knowstone Charmer beat a total entry of 14 and went on to win the coveted 1st prize for Champion Yearling.

Next, their son Richard Stanbury won first prize in the Junior Shearing Competition and took home a handsome engraved set of Silver Shears. Richard will hold the prize for a year. Richard also came second in the Under 21 's Shearing Competition.

Finally, daughter Clare Stanbury had little trouble winning 1st Prize in the Native Bred Commercial Steer category with a Devon Steer called Double Trouble. 

This is a great achievement, well done to all the family.
