21st June - Thieves Target East Knowstone
Added On: 21/06/2011 Around 3.00 - 3.30 am on Tuesday morning 21st June, intruders were disturbed and frightened off as they attempted to break into a farm in East Knowstone. At the same time, other intruders were heard trying to break into garden sheds at the rear of nearby residential houses. Residents phoned the police who arrived promptly with squad cars and a dog unit.
Local neighborhood watch teams have been busy contacting Knowstone parish residents to warn them of the dangers and to urge vigilance at all times.
The intruders appeared to be determined and systematic - it is possible that they have observed the village for some time identifying likely targets - there is no reason to believe that they will not come back. Residents are urged to make sure that sheds and outlying buildings are locked and secure and that they have contact numbers for the police and neighbors available if needed.
If residents see anything suspicious - strangers in cars or on foot who seem 'interested' in the neighborhood - then please take note and contact the local police team.
